With modern electronically controlled throttles we have grown numb to the lack of response we get when we hit the gas pedal. The Sprint Booster brings some of that response back by amplifying the signal from the accelerator pedal (really just a switch) to the ECU so it reacts quickly to your input - silimar to the "olden" days when cars used accelerator cables. The Sprint Booster is engineered to enhance the driving experience by providing increased acceleration time (eliminating delay) on drive-by-wire cars by continuously measuring and converting the digital signal and providing the ECM (Electronic Control Module) with a new and altered signal for much quicker response. Note: In our testing of the 02-06 Supercharged Cooper S we have found that when running a boost upgrade pulley the Sprint Booster for the Automatic (with its less aggressive throttle input) has a better feel to it. Since the boost upgraded Cooper S is now making more boost and at lower RPM the Manual Sprint Booster made our Mini very sensitive to throttle input.
